RenderGod Glossary of Render Queue Terms
Plain definitions of the terms used in RenderGod, from job, queue and export folder to UnCrash, frozen frames, badges and camera binding markers.
This glossary explains the terms used in RenderGod and in this documentation, in alphabetical order.
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Add-on | The Send to RenderGod Blender add-on, which saves the open scene and adds it to the RenderGod queue. See The Blender add-on. |
| Auto Bake Physics | Bakes the simulations in a .blend file before the render starts, so physics render the same on every frame. See Bake physics before rendering. |
| Auto Create Video | Encodes the rendered image sequence into a video when a render job finishes. See Create a video automatically. |
| Background recovery service | A small Windows service that resumes an interrupted render after a PC crash, power loss or restart, before anyone signs in. Windows only. See The background recovery service. |
| Badge | A small label on a job card, such as scene, camera, frame range or format. See Job badges. |
| Blender Version Manager | The Settings section that lists the Blender installations RenderGod can use and finds new ones. See Find your Blender installations. |
| Camera Binding Markers | Blender timeline markers bound to cameras. When a job uses them, the active camera changes during the frame range. See Render multiple cameras with timeline markers. |
| Compositor | Blender's compositing node tree applied to the render. See Use a specific compositor. |
| Conversion job | A queue job that converts media instead of rendering a .blend: image sequence to video, video to image sequence, video format, audio extraction or audio conversion. See Convert images, video and audio. |
| Deep Scan | A slow search of every drive for Blender installations. Windows only. |
| Encoding format | A saved set of video codec, container and quality options, such as H.264 High mp4. See Video encoding formats. |
| ETA | Estimated time until a job finishes, shown on the job card while it renders. See Progress and time remaining. |
| Export folder | The folder a job writes its frames or files to. Open it with Open Export Folder on the job card. |
| File Output node | A compositor node that saves extra images, such as render passes, to its own folder. See Render compositor File Output nodes. |
| Follow Scene | An option that keeps the value saved in the .blend file, for example for Preset or Format. |
| Frame timer | The clock on a rendering job card that shows how long the current frame has taken, next to the previous frame's time. |
| Frozen frame | A frame on which Blender stops making progress. UnCrash can detect it after a timeout and restart Blender. See Detect and recover frozen frames. |
| History | The list of jobs removed from the queue, from which you can restore a job with its settings. See Restore removed jobs from History. |
| Job | One item in the queue: a .blend render or a media conversion. |
| Job file (.rgjob) | A file that stores one or more queue jobs with their settings, used for backups or to move jobs to another computer. See Export and import job files. |
| Live preview | The preview card in the settings panel that shows each frame as it finishes. See Watch frames live. |
| Locked settings | Settings that cannot be changed because the job is rendering, paused mid-range or finished. See Why settings are locked. |
| Optimization Overrides | Render speed options applied on top of the .blend file, such as forcing the GPU, tile size, Fast GI and texture limits. See Optimization overrides. |
| Output template | The folder and file name pattern that decides where renders are saved, built from parts such as Blend folder, Scene, Camera and Date + time. See Build a custom output template. |
| Performance Monitor | The CPU, RAM, GPU and VRAM readout in the footer. See System settings. |
| Preset | A saved combination of render settings you can apply to a job. See Render presets. |
| Python hooks | Scripts and Blender application handlers that run at set moments of a render. See Python hooks and application handlers. |
| Queue | The list of jobs RenderGod works through from top to bottom. See The render queue explained. |
| Remote control | Controlling RenderGod on this computer from a browser on another device. See Control your renders from a browser. |
| Session | A browser that is connected to this computer through remote control. See Manage connected browsers. |
| Single View Layer | Renders only one view layer of the scene instead of all of them. See Render a single view layer. |
| Skipped frame | A frame UnCrash gave up on after too many crashes or freezes, so the rest of the render could continue. See Skipped frames. |
| Skipped job | A job whose switch is turned off so the queue passes over it without removing it. See Skip a job. |
| Telegram bot | Your own bot in Telegram that sends render updates and previews and accepts commands. See Get render notifications on Telegram. |
| UI Scale | The size of all text and controls in RenderGod, from 75% to 150%. See Themes, color palettes, font and UI scale. |
| UnCrash | RenderGod's crash recovery: it restarts Blender after a crash or freeze and resumes from the last finished frame. See UnCrash overview. |
| View layer | A Blender view layer, a set of collections and passes rendered together. |
| When Done | The action RenderGod takes when the queue finishes: nothing, shut down or sleep. See Shut down or sleep when the queue finishes. |
| World Override | Renders a job with a different Blender World than the one saved in the scene. See Override the world for a render. |
