Bake Physics Simulations Before Rendering
Use Auto Bake Physics in RenderGod to bake rigid body, cloth and other Blender simulations before each render, so every frame matches your viewport result.
Auto Bake Physics bakes every physics simulation in a .blend file before the render starts. Rigid bodies, cloth and other simulations then play back from the baked cache, so frames rendered in the background match what you saw in Blender, even if the render is split, resumed or recovered after a crash.

Turn Auto Bake Physics on or off
- Select the job.
- Click the Auto Bake Physics switch.
New jobs start with it on. The gear icon opens Auto Bake Physics settings, where you change that default.
| Setting | What happens when you start the queue |
|---|---|
| On | Blender opens the file in the background, bakes all simulation caches, saves the .blend file, then renders |
| Off | The render starts straight away and uses whatever caches the file already has |
What you see while it bakes
- The job's status shows baking, with a purple progress bar on its card in the queue.
- The preview canvas shows Baking Physics: "Frames start appearing here once every simulation is baked."
- The job's settings are locked until the bake and render finish. See Why settings are locked.
When to use it
| Situation | Recommendation |
|---|---|
| Rigid body, cloth, soft body or other cache-based simulations in the shot | On |
| You already baked the simulation in Blender and saved the file | Off saves time, or On to be safe |
| No simulations in the file | Either. Off skips an unneeded step. |
| You want to keep a specific cache you made by hand | Off |
Auto Bake Physics saves the
.blend file with the new caches. It is the only render setting in RenderGod that changes your file on disk. Keep a backup if you need the file exactly as it was.Things to know
- If Disable add-ons during render is on in Optimization overrides, the bake also runs without add-ons.
- Baking adds time before the first frame. Long, high-resolution simulations can take several minutes.
